Although she did not bear the title of Pharaoh, Cleopatra VII had all the attributes. Mounted on the throne in 51 BC, she became a legendary queen of ancient Egypt. Renowned for its beauty, it is best known for its relationships with Julius Caesar and then Marc Antoine. By committing suicide in 30 BCE, she only reinforced her legend.
