This 80 billion pixel photo offers an indecent zoom on all of New York

If you have always dreamed of visiting the city that never sleeps but the opportunity has not yet arisen, we offer you a glimpse of what awaits you through this incredible panorama of New York immortalized from the Empire State Building.

This striking photo was taken by the American company EarthCam specializing in surveillance cameras and technologies. Using their own GigapixelCam X80 camera, they managed to capture the most accurate photograph of New York ever taken to date.

This state-of-the-art equipment has been developed for use outdoors to record 360° images, thanks in particular to a staggering resolution of up to 80 billion pixels. And what better way to demonstrate the ability of this little gem than to achieve a panorama of New York nestled on one of the tallest towers in the city at 381 meters in height?

The camera thus captured 3234 photos in very large format before assembling them into a single panoramic image. By visiting the site Earth Cam, you can then enlarge the image and explore every nook and cranny of half of Manhattan. You can also move freely in the streets, see the Statue of Liberty, the Flatiron Building or the Brooklyn Bridge without leaving your home!
