What are the different types of masks on the market?
The Surgical Mask
When we think of a protective mask against a virus, we often think of the surgical mask first. This type of mask is mainly used by contagious patients to avoid transmitting the infection through the air or not by droplets. They are found in pharmacies. Its use is also quite restrictive. Once in place on the face, the user should no longer touch it. Once removed, wet or soiled, this mask should be discarded and replaced. Preferably reserve it for nursing staff or patients. Note that it is quite delicate to properly attach an FFP2 mask to the face. So be sure to follow the recommendations.
The FFP3 mask is as efficient as the FFP2 with the same constraints
The latest model in the series, the FFP3 mask offers even more efficient filtration than the FFP2. According to the adage that can do the most can do the least, this type of mask, used especially in industry, construction sites and some doctors, is therefore also effective in protecting against the virus. Like FFP2, its use suffers from the same constraints. The FFP3 mask is not reusable and should be replaced regularly.
The reusable, washable fabric mask: the best compromise
The reusable fabric mask (there are usually 2 or 3 layers of fabric) is undoubtedly the best compromise to protect yourself from the Coronavirus. Cloth masks that are offered for sale and are usually washable a number of times. Those stamped AFNOR SPEC S76-001 can thus be washed 50 times before being replaced.
Much more environmentally friendly, they are also less restrictive than disposable masks. They are also more comfortable to wear. Limitations of the reusable and washable textile mask

Its daily use is recommended but if you are in regular contact with people, it is better to choose a more efficient model.
