
Google's smartwatches with the Wearable OS Android Wear can now also be used with iPhones. Contrary to statements from Google, this also works with older devices such as the LG G Watch or the Motorola Moto 360.
It has long been rumored that Android Wear smartwatches will also work with iPhones in the future. The corresponding companion app has now been published, as Google announced in the official blog. An iPhone 5 or later with operating system version 8.2 is required to use a Google watch on iOS.

Contrary to Google's statements, the Android Wear app for iOS devices does not only work with the LG Watch Urbane and future models from Motorola, Huawei, Asus & Co. – like colleague Caschy could understand this is also possible with the first LG smartwatch or the Motorola Moto 360.
As with Android, notifications of incoming or missed calls, chat messages, emails, etc. find their way to the cell phone in connection with an iPhone smart health connected via Bluetooth.
