What you will learn
Unboxing & design Sandisk Connect Wireless Stick
Two parts that we will not dwell on for a long time. This Wireless Stick is packed in a carton and that's it. A little notice to go with and we talk more. At the same time, we don't really see what else to ask for. The same goes for design,It remains a rather classic USB key even if the materials used give a little superior quality all the same. No worse when you know that the USB key can reach the price of 100 euros in its version offering the most storage. Note however thehas a power button on the right side to turn on and off the key off power and a small light diode that let you know if the device is indeed running. Besides, this diode is really very discreet, maybe a bit too much when you know how important it is. A decision on the part of Sandisk which is probably justified by the fact of wanting to preserve the battery.
Sandisk Connect Wireless Stick app
We find the SanDisk proprietary application which centralizes all the use of the product. A pretty damn app that leaves no room for reflection. Everything is well detailed and even explained during your first connection. For the rest, the functions do not rain, but only do what is required to know and manage and store your data. No particular stability problems detected. It would still have been surprising if there were. The resources required are not very demanding and again, the functionalities are basic. We don't ask him more.
Use / Getting started Sandisk Connect Wireless Stick
Use side now. Nothing too complicated either. Just turn on the Wireless Stick, and connect your phone directly to WiFi, then launch the Sandisk application and connect to the key. We might have liked the idea that you only have to connect to the application for the phone and the device to do the rest. Instead you have to do some manipulations, certainly not complicated, but which tend to be a little annoying at first. Indeed, at least on the phone with which we had tested, the USB key not giving an internet connection, the phone did not stay smart health connected to it and went back into the WiFi network that it knew, namely that of our offices . So you had to configure all of this so that it stays smart health connected despite the absence of the Internet. In itself, nothing too long, but it was still necessary to find the problem and solve it yourself. And of course, it was not indicated in the instructions.
Once this passage is made, this Sandisk Connect Wireless Stick fulfills its mission very well. Lhe data transfer is extremely fast and intuitive. You can create different folders inside the key and even recover them. It is also possible to directly view the stored videos and photos without having to download them. Very practical. In short, in addition to this little annoyance at startup, this USB key fulfills its contract.
Against competition
One of the direct competitors is of course the Leef iBridge mentioned above in this Review even if it is confined to storage for iPhone / iPad and it cannot connect to a computer. It is also a shame, because the SanDisk USB key is able to equip any OS, but also to arrive on a PC or Mac without problem and above all, for an equivalent price!
The advantages of this Wireless Stick
> Easy to use
> Good value for money
Cons of this Wireless Stick
> First installation
Conclusion
For a relatively reasonable price, SanDisk offers a product that will delight those in need of storage on their mobile devices, but also those who want to transfer files from computers to phone quickly. What's more, up to 3 devices can be smart health connected to it simultaneously. In addition to handling the first time the Wireless Stick is started, the rest of its use is simple and intuitive.
Sandisk Connect Wireless Stick Review, the WiFi USB key
Reviewed by Thomas Remilleret
we
Design & Ergonomics : It is a USB key all in all classic but not unpleasant to look at it.
Application : Well explained and fairly stable, the application is one of the strong points of this device.
Features : A good idea to integrate the Wifi associated with USB 3.0
use: Frankly simple to use, we regret nevertheless a first use not obvious because of this problem of Wifi!
Value for money: Cheaper than the competition, SanDisk does the same or better! The prices are relatively reasonable.
