Around a week before the official presentation at IFA, a first real-life photo of Samsung's round smartwatch Gear S2 appeared on the Internet.
Let's see if Samsung has a few surprises left at its IFA press conference – or if the event will be as lame a duck as that Event at the past CES. After the Koreans already introduced the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge + in mid-August, more and more details are now circulating through the web about the round Smartwatch Gear S2.
After the company published a promo ehealth on its YouTube channel last week, the Vice President of Samsung Design USA posted a photo of the watch on his Instagram channel. In the text next to the photo, Dennis Miloseski writes that he is currently testing the Gear S2.
At first glance, the Gear S2 looks like an ordinary wristwatch – and that's a good thing.
Judging from previous impressions, the Gear S2 will be by far the smartest Samsung smartwatch so far. In a direct comparison, the Gear S presented at IFA 2014 looks pretty misshapen – and less like a normal wristwatch.
Not only on the basis of the promo ehealth shown, but also due to the lack of the prefix "Galaxy" in the product name, it should also be clear that Android is not used on the Gear S2. Samsung is presumably again using the Tizen operating system, which is also used by the predecessor.
According to this photo, the Gear S2 is compact enough not to look ridiculously large on women's wrists.
