Sudio VASA BLA unboxing
First, the headphones are enclosed in a beautiful rather compact box which opens like a book. It is solid and the white color remains classic but very effective. On the back, we find the content pictures of the packaging, the Vasa Bla and its accessories.
As the outside suggested, in terms of ergonomics, the packaging is very success. Two small cardboard packages are perfectly slipped between strips of black foam. Nothing moves, everything is in place to the nearest millimeter. We are not disappointed the whole is very classy.
The first cardboard packaging contains the famous headphones smart health connected with their USB cord. The second, slightly larger, gives a good new smell. In separate plastic bags, we find the User Manual, a Fidelity card which looks like a bank card, 4 pairs of additional tips of different size and a pin bright pink. To top it off, Sudio saw fit to provide a leather pouch very practical for storing headphones.
Design and ergonomics of the Sudio VASA BLA
There are four models of Vasa Bla: white, blue, pink and black. This is the last one that the editorial team tested for you. The design is quite successful. The whole is well done and a matte black color except the ear cups of a rose gold. They are smart health connected by a cord, which in the long run can become disturbing. But good news, this one will not get tangled since it is dish.
Two blocks are on the cord: the one on the right contains the remote control (Play, Pause, Next, Previous) with the microphone and the second the drums with a hatch that hides the micro-USB port. This system also allows the tips of a battery pack to be discharged.
With its two cases on the cord, the device is well balanced and does not have a disproportionate side. The Vasa Bla are light and small. This does not prevent them from having a good ear which remains comfortable over time. The Sudio brand is not obvious, just a small white writing on the cords is legible.
Sudio VASA BLA features
Wireless headphones can be easily smart health connected to all devices equipped with the Bluetooth. No need for any application, just long press the Play button on the remote control. A small LED blue then appears. While continuing to press the button, the light will turn red, this is a sign that the Vasa Bla are ready to be synchronized. In this regard, the manual provided in the box mentions alternating red and blue for the flashing, which we didn’t find.
In the smartphone menu, nothing more clear, they are called Sudio VASA BLA in the list of available devices. Once smart health connected, a small icon will appear at the top of the smartphone to inform you of what is left of the battery. In theory, 2 hours is enough so that the recharge is complete. The indicator light on the remote control changes from red to blue when it is finished. The helmet has an autonomy of 8 hours in operation and 10 days in standby.
The headphone volume control is linked to that of the device with which it is paired. If you get a call from step mom, you can hear her sweet voice. VASA BLAs pause music and play your ringtone. Just press the Play button to pick up, if, of course, you want to do it. We hang up exactly same way and the music picks up where it left off.
The 4 pairs of tips provided in the package are all different sizes to adapt to the shape of your ear. However, try to tilt the earbuds in several ways to find the one that best suits you. It is also not worth pushing them very hard, it could block your ear canal.
This may be a detail for some and a big flaw for others. If you are used to using the voice assistant of your smartphone, you will have to do without it. Vasa Bla are not intended for this use.
The sound of Sudio's VASA BLA
When it comes to listening to music, you have to come to it since that is the reason why we buy a pair of headphones, the VASA BLA are rather pleasant. The sound is very clear and neutral. However, it lacks a bit of strength depth. It's a shame for some types of music but, for use versatile, the headphones are fine. We can go from Pop to electronic and even to classical while continuing to clearly distinguish all the instruments. The frequencies tend rather towards the medium, which doesn’t suit fans of good big rap. In addition, the bass is not not too pronounced.
The sound volume is very good and covers noises of your surroundings. Be careful when you cross the street, you will not hear cars coming. During calls, the sound is correct and your interlocutor can hear you very clearly. The sound skips and cuts off when you move away a little more than one ten meters of the device they’re paired with.
Sudio's VASA BLA against the competition
The VASA BLA are sold at 90 € on the manufacturer's site. It’s reasonable for such a finish. They remain competitive and their quality is clearly superior to headphones bought for around thirty euros. Faced with other headsets that cost € 200, nothing says that their quality will be twice as high. If you want to get an idea of what the competition offers, the editorial team has also tested other smart health connected headphones.
