On a daily basis, the software runs quickly, the sequences appear to be fluid. From audio editing to photo processing, this PC allows a lot of things (…).
The Honor MagicBook 14 wants to be versatile and gives itself the means. First, the power cable has two USB Type-C terminations. The cord can therefore be used to power the PC as well as to charge the cell phone and connect it to the MagicBook. Convenient, because I no longer need to travel with two chargers and several USB cables. The supplied adapter fully charges the computer in just over an hour. In economical use, the battery can accustom the nine hours of autonomy. In very intensive use, it will take three hours. This result remains correct, especially given the good performance of the AMD Ryzen 5 chip.

Surprisingly, the graphics card allows you to enjoy video game sessions in really satisfactory conditions, as long as you do not show yourself to be too perfectionist. Benchmarks confirm this trend, by evaluating the performance of the processor within a few cables of the latest mobile chips Intel Core i7. The integrated graphics card greatly exceeds the performance of competing models in this price range.
On the other hand, the 8 GB RAM, neither expandable nor replaceable, prevents asking for more from the MagicBook 14. The proliferation of particularly heavy applications has also resulted in some paralysis. Of course, after a forced restart, everything is back to normal. Finally, the wireless connection does not suffer from any notable defect.

Visiting YouTube or Netflix provides a great experience with a perfect screen weight / size compromise. The autonomy is impressive in office automation (about a day).
The MagicBook 14 performs very well in office and web browsing, being limited only by my weak Internet connection. It is notably more fluid than a Surface Go due to better hardware.
Visiting YouTube and Netflix provides a great experience with the perfect screen-to-weight balance. The autonomy is impressive in office automation (about a day). On the other hand, it literally melts when watching movies and series on Netflix. Charging, on the other hand, is a real positive point with a compact charger and a very fast charging time.
Using photo post processing applications like Lightroom works smoothly and doesn't drain the battery too much. This PC allows me to consider photo editing while traveling without problems. The most demanding users will need to calibrate the screen, which turns a little blue when it comes out of the box.

Outdoor use is a black point because the screen lacks brightness. Wi-Fi is another negative point: it is slower than on my other devices. Bluetooth has no faults.
Noise is well controlled even at full load. Heating is acceptable, but it is important to be careful when using this laptop on your lap, as the ventilation grille is located below the appliance.
I tested the Magic-Link 2 function with my Honor View 10. I must note that the pairing was a little difficult. The age of my smartphone also limits access to multi-screen collaboration in particular. The connection sharing option is a more interesting. I found the features offered equivalent to the "Your Phone" app in Windows 10.

With the responsive fingerprint reader, unlocking the computer gets you up and running in seconds.
The thinness and lightness of the computer are a real asset for a mobile experience which is facilitated by a USB Type-C charger which does not clutter my bag like a conventional PC charger. Thanks to the responsive fingerprint reader, unlocking the computer allows you to be up and running in seconds, very convenient for both personal and professional use. With a fairly large surface, the touchpad requires long fingers to reach the left click function.
Due to the confinement in particular, the webcam was in high demand for numerous videoconferences. Just press one of the Function keys on the keyboard for this key to lift and reveal the webcam. The low-angle image is not always very flattering, but, beyond the aesthetic aspect, the image quality is fairly average, and the fingers appear in the foreground when taking notes .

Fast charging is welcome, because the battery does not allow you to hold a big day of work (8 hours in optimal autonomy, against 6 h 30 min in intensive use). The Honor MagicBook 14 proves to be quite efficient. No latency is observed when it is heavily used (videoconference, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Word, around twenty Firefox tabs, WhatsApp web). It barely heats up and remains very discreet. The Wi-Fi connection is stable, which allows video conferencing and Netflix viewing without any jerks.
The ultra-portable Honor MagicBook 14 continues to be near faultless. The autonomy of the device proves to be honorable allowing it to stay away from any electrical source during a day of work or class. The charger seduced our readers with its small footprint and its ability to quickly charge the PC. The good surprise is for the AMD Ryzen 5 platform which is powerful and versatile, even allowing video games. Something interesting enough to be pointed out: our three readers do not all report the same small faults (inextensible RAM, viewing the screen outdoors and angle of the webcam). Additional proof that this Honor MagicBook 14 was rather well born at this price, without major imperfection to deplore. See you in a week for the review of this Readers-Testers.
