What you will learn
Unboxing of the PlayBulb Sphere
The packaging is not very elaborate: a red and white cube, briefly and simply presenting the functions of the lamp, as well as the application. In short, just the right thing.
When we open the box, we come across the charging base and the mini USB cable. Then removing the polystyrene block, we come across our PlayBulb Sphere, all white, all dapper.
Design and ergonomics
The PlayBulb Sphere, as its name suggests, is a glass ball of white color. It is very light.
Question design, the smart health connected lamps of Mipow generally have nothing to envy anyone, especially for the PlayBulb Sphere, since this one has the advantage of being waterproof, and can therefore also be used outdoors.
Battery level, the PlayBulb Sphere has the advantage of having a charging base wireless. Which is pretty cool! In 3 hours your mini bowling ball will be recharged, and will last up to 8 hours in complete autonomy !
As for the solidity of the product, it remains fragile, this is normal for a glass globe. To testify, our deliverers unfortunately had to abuse our package because our Sphere arrived slightly cracked in a small place as you can see in the photos below.
IOS and Android application associated with PlayBulb Sphere
Mipow assured for once: the PlayBulb Sphere can be smart health connected to a iOS and Android application. A boon for all those who are fed up with being excluded because they are not Apple Addicts.
General use
As much to admit it right away, the application PlayBulb X is not the strong point of the product, even if it does not completely work against it. The application is not very intuitive, even if once explored, it becomes child's play.
Configuration:
smart health connected in Bluetooth, pairing the devices is very easy. You can also add up to 5 different PlayBulb together, so that they follow the same guidelines.
Once this is done, the experience can begin!
Use :
Regarding the light, you will be able to have fun. The application will allow you to choose different modes or sequences (flashing lights, rainbow …), or different colours. You will even be able to keep your mind "real candle“.
But Mipow wanted to offer more features than just lighting effects …
Indeed, you can set your light on the music you have chosen, you can also decide to pair your alarm clock with your Sphere so that it sparkles at the right time.
The application contains a tab "shake“To tell you the truth, we haven't found any use for this mode.
PlayBulb Sphere against the competition
Many companies on the market offer this kind of product. The most famous is probably the Philips lamp, but question quality / price ratio, Mipow with its range of Play Bulb sets all records!
Conclusion
Let's first mention the negatives of Mipow's Sphere PlayBulb.
It must first be said that they are not numerous .. what we blame the most about this product is probably its application, which is not necessarily well thought out, and which sometimes has some display problems or translation.
Now the positive points of this product.
First of all, the value for money of this Sphere is just great. Because yes, you will have a product with a pleasant design and interesting features. You can recreate great atmospheres for your evenings, or on the contrary more cozy and warm atmospheres to relax. Once the application is well taken in hand, the control is done quite simply. The autonomy of the product is a real plus: up to 8 hours without recharging it.
