Unboxing by Lilo: a vegetable garden securely smart health connected in its box
Lilo was delivered to us with three capsules: chives, lemon balm and lemon basil. The vegetable box is covered with an overpack bearing a photo of a well-stocked Lilo and the name of the brand. The packaging is nice and promises to brighten up his kitchen every day, to bring an island of nature to your health home.
Once the overpack has been removed, everything is much simpler. The recyclable cardboard retains its original brown color: only the brand, the product name and the logo are written on the sides, in brown varnish.
The contents of the box are limited to the vegetable patch and the instructions, which welcomes us with a "Hello!" colored. The different elements of the vegetable patch are perfectly wedged by cardboard boxes : the lamp is inserted in a thick piece to its dimensions, the floats of the pots are immobilized by cardboard strips. All this does not budge, it is a well-made packaging, very protective.
The capsules that will welcome aromatic plants are delivered separately, in individual boxes. On the sides, the name of the plant, a description of it, a suggestion for use … Simple, the box holds the capsule well as well as the sachets of seeds and nutrients.
Using Lilo: absolute simplicity
The use of Lilo is intended easy as pie. It is also written on the packaging of the vegetable patch: "No need to have a green thumb to grow your herbs and flowers". Indeed, it is complicated to make it simpler.
The mounting of the smart health connected vegetable patch is easy: the different parts are assembled in a logical way and an installation guide is in the box (and on the application) to help in case of doubt. Once Lilo rises, just fill the three bins with water and put the capsules in it.
This may be the most technical part of the installation. You have to put the seeds, which are in a sachet, in the capsule. Then place the capsule in the receptacle that floats on the water in the tank. And There you go. Twenty choices of seeds are available: aromatic herbs, flowers and infusions. Their price ranges from 5.95 to 6.90 €.
There is only one thing left to do: wait for it to grow. And it grows quickly! After a week, the results are already widely visible. Nothing that cannot be eaten at the moment, but it is very promising and really surprising.

My Lilo application: to take good care of your smart health connected vegetable garden
The My Lilo app that accompanies the smart health connected vegetable patch is as simple as the rest. Its purpose is to guide the gardener budding (aromatic) throughout the growing process. From assembling Lilo to watering plants.
The user indicates which plants he puts in his smart health connected vegetable garden. The application then tells him when to plant them so that they can be consumed at the same time. Then she will remind him when to sprinkle this or that sprout.
The application is also there to adjust certain parameters, such as the lamp activation times. For that you need to connect via Bluetooth to Lilo, via the app.
In addition, My Lilo allows you to contact the company directly, by email in the event of a problem, access the FAQ or the shop to buy capsules.
Design and ergonomics: pretty enough to decorate your living room
The smart health connected Lilo vegetable garden is very pleasing to the eye. The base and the rod that supports the LEDs are made of wood, the rest is beige or brown plastic. The whole turns out to be homogeneous, simple : simply lovely. More than a vegetable garden, it is also a decorative element which will have its place in the living room, bringing greenery and light.
The lamp (the only place on the product where the brand appears) is made up of 21 low-consumption LEDs. According to the brand, Lilo consumes "two times less than your Internet box". It is at the level of the luminaire that is located the black dot of the smart health connected vegetable patch. The LEDs are visible, which is not necessarily very aesthetic. It doesn’t matter too much, as we rarely look at the underside of the lamp, but a cover on the LEDs would have given the product a more worked and finished look.
The white power cable – which plugs into the lamp – goes through two places, one at the base of the vegetable patch, the other at the lamp. This helps to conceal it. It's nice to have a discreet cable which is not entirely apparent.
Lilo is a product made intelligently. The capsule which receives the seeds is installed in a float, on the water of the trays. Thanks to this arrangement, the plant can draw water when it feels the need. When the float level drops a little too much, we add water.
The capsules are biodegradable, it is therefore possible to integrate them into your compost once the growth is complete (after 3/4 months of use). Finally, it should be noted that the Lilo smart health connected vegetable garden is entirely "Made in France": buying a pretty vegetable garden is good; a nice French vegetable garden is better. It's like that.
Faced with competition: Lilo is the only smart health connected vegetable garden … for now
Lilo being the first smart health connected vegetable garden to lay the roots for the writing of ABSMARTHEALTH.net, it is complicated to compare it to its competition. Also, if there are “smart” indoor gardens, it seems that no other has an application, which makes Lilo the only smart health connected vegetable garden available in France… for now. Because Véritable, which already offers indoor gardens, has announced that it is preparing to release a vegetable garden with an application. And if there is another smart health connected vegetable garden, the Foop, but it is only available in China.
If, luckily, other brands came to lend us smart indoor vegetable gardens, we will update this Review according to their quality.
Conclusion: we love it!
Throughout this Review, Lilo only scored good points. Well built, pretty, easy to use … design errors are rare in this smart health connected vegetable garden.
However, it is not possible to give a final opinion at this time. It is worth checking the promises of Prêt à Pousser. It will therefore be necessary wait some time to see if the life of the capsules and the growth speed allow the announced production rate: 3 to 4 months of weekly harvest before the capsule collapses.
Anyway, Lilo is a charming smart health smart health connected object that changes fits easily into our daily lives. It is quite rare to have a smart health smart health connected object that produces something other than data, however useful it may be.
Good points
- A beautiful object
- Simple and efficient
- Original
Negative points
- Price a bit high
- Visible LEDs
