The PLAYBULB candle box is pleasant to the touch. The candle box therefore includes the candle, a quick start guide and the perfume chips, all stored under the candle in a small drawer.
Design and ergonomics
Beautiful object of beautiful shape. The candle is quite sober and can blend into any interior. The ON / OFF button is inside and is not very easy to access. Same remark for the lid of the perfume chip. The location for the perfume with the green dot can be seen in the photo on the right.
Application
The application is compatible with iOS 7.0 and above, as well as from Android 4.3. It is rather simplistic and does not present any malfunction during use. The candle connects via Bluetooth to the smartphone and the connection is quite fast. It is preceded by a quick tutorial.
The application is neither beautiful nor ugly, nothing very original, but it has been rather badly translated into French and some parts are still in English.
Use / Getting started with the PLAYBULB candle
The candle is remarkably simple to use. It automatically connects to the smartphone.
Variation of colors and effects : Varying and changing the colors of the candle is a breeze using the color wheel or by selecting predefined colors (red, green, blue and white). The application also offers 5 different effects: flashes, (heart) beats, rainbow, melted rainbow and the normal candle effect with the possibility of varying the speed. Not to mention the “shake” option which, when you shake your phone, changes the color of the candle.

Wake up or standby: The application also offers to program an alarm clock or put the candle on standby, but unfortunately you have to reprogram everything every day. The music once programmed for your alarm clock thanks to your music library, starts up in the morning, but it does not come out of the candle, it comes out of your phone!
On the other hand, for the alarm clock or the standby, you can choose a light variation. That is to say, we will be able to choose whether we want the light to turn on or off at once, or if we prefer it to be progressive.
Little tips: Otherwise, to turn it off you also have the choice between two other possibilities than the ON / OFF button. Since the candle is fitted with a small microphone, you can either blow it out like a real candle, or tap the palm of your hand on the top of the candle. Re-blowing or re-tapping allows to switch it on again.
The perfumed chip: On the other hand, the lavender-scented chip to slide inside does nothing and above all does not smell of lavender at all …
If you have several candles in the same room, you can group them, and give them different names via the app.

Conclusion
PLAYBULB candle is a smart health connected candle that would make a very good little bedside lamp for a subdued atmosphere or a night light for young children. The application remains to be improved and especially the translations of the manual. The candle works with batteries, which seems quite has-been and marks the separation between a truly high-tech object and a smart health smart health connected object close to a toy or bauble. But that said, it's still a nice gift, a fun little gadget that doesn't take up space at a good price / quality ratio.
What we like: ease of use, effects and price.
What we don't like: The candle works with batteries and the alarm clock has to be reprogrammed every day.

Design: The design is simple, beautiful and goes everywhere.
Application: The app is nothing special. It is not magnificent and the translations of the manual are sometimes missing or badly done.
Functionality: Of the few features that this smart health connected candle offers, only one is a little disappointing, that of the alarm clock, but otherwise it is completely consistent with what the merchant announces.
Use / Getting started: The use is remarkably simple. As soon as the application is installed, the candle is ready for use.
Price quality : It is a very good quality / price ratio. For ten euros more, the manufacturer could have put a rechargeable battery rather than batteries.
