The company Pebble has officially announced its first round smartwatch. In Germany, the Pebble Time Round will not be available until next year.
After the first information about the wearable had leaked in advance, Pebble officially announced the Pebble Time Round last night, its first round smartwatch. With its weight of 28 grams and a height of 7.5 millimeters, the company praises it as the slimmest and lightest smartwatch in the world. However, this is at the expense of the battery life, which is only two days compared to the up to seven days for the other Pebble models. However, 15 minutes of charging time should bring enough energy for a day.

The Pebble Time Round comes in three versions – in black, silver and rose gold. There are bracelets of different widths (14 or 20 millimeters) and different materials with leather and stainless steel. Thanks to the quick-release mechanism, they can be replaced in a few seconds. Like the Pebble Time, the Time Round has an e-paper color display. The manufacturer has no information on the display diagonal. Pebble's new wearable device is protected against splash water according to IPX7 certification and works with iOS and Android devices.
Pebble CEO Eric Migicovsky sees the Pebble Time Round as the perfect extension of the growing product family. It looks “completely different from everything we have done so far.” A special SDK was published for developers, with which they can adapt their existing apps to the round display of the new smartwatch.
The Pebble Time Round will cost $ 249 and can be pre-ordered on Pebble.com. In the US, the gadget will also be available from BestBuy, Target and Amazon. Delivery begins in November in the USA, in Germany the smartwatch will not be available until 2016.
