A few days ago, leaker Evan Blass released the first official images showing the Galaxy Watch 3. The leak confirms the return of the crown similar to that of the first Galaxy Watch, the heart rate sensor located under the case and the stainless steel case. On some official images, Galaxy Watch 3 screen indeed displays “Wednesday 22” as the date. After a quick glance in the calendar, we realize that July 22 does indeed fall on a Wednesday. According to SamMobile, it is therefore very likely that the presentation of the Watch 3 will take place on this date. Pandemic requires, the manufacturer should be satisfied with an online conference.

It is relatively common for official product images to display the date of the launch conference. At this event, Samsung is also expected to present the Galaxy Buds Live, a new generation of wireless headphones. The latest news is that the Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Buds Live will hit the market at the beginning of the month of August, shortly before the Unpacked conference on August 5, 2020. During this second summer event, Samsung will lift the veil on the Galaxy Note 20, on the Galaxy Fold 2 with a foldable screen and on a 5G variant of the Galaxy Z Flip. The conference program is already busy despite the absence of the Watch 3.

Like Apple, Samsung has decided to put more emphasis on the appearance of its watch. It will be possible to choose different frames from a wider selection. These frames can be personalized as never before with “complications” which will for obvious reasons be called differently than on the Apple Watch, namely “Digital Edge”.

However, their operation will be similar. Each dialer will have spaces in which it will be possible to show specific information, such as the date, your heart rate or the weather. Several examples of these frames have been used in this rendering:

A new weather app is expected to appear. This will be very visual, and will for example change appearance depending on the conditions. The Calendar app will have one new view per week. The Health monitoring app would now be preinstalled on the watch. Other new features include the integration of Outlook and Spotify. The device is said to have 8 GB of internal storage.

In addition, the watch will have NFC technology for payments, but not Magnetic Secure Transmission technology, which is essential to use Samsung Pay on certain terminals. The watch will probably be offered in a WiFi version and a 4G version. In addition to the novelties that have surfaced via the firmwarem, the watch is expected to have features such as sleep monitoring, or the electro-cardiogram.
