Moto 360 in the Review | ABSMARTHEALTH

The Moto 360 is Motorola Mobility's first smartwatch. It even belongs to the generation that Google and its partners introduced earlier this year. Compared to many other wristwatches with Android Wear OS, the Moto 360 has a round display – similar to the G Watch R from LG Electronics. Although the name is 360, the watch does not have a completely round display; a part is cut off. But that's too much for the introduction – in our Review you read and see everything you need to know about the chic and fine smartwatch from Motorola.

Leather strap of the Moto 360

It's great: high-quality materials, thin frames and a feeling of quality. The Moto 360 comes in two different versions from the factory: dark case with black leather strap and light case with gray strap. If you want to bet on something individual, you can do it easily, because Motorola uses the conventional standard with 22 millimeters.

Leather bracelet from the Horween Leather Company

The real leather feels great and is supplied by the U.S. Horween Leather Company. The smartwatch unit is protected by a ring-like stainless steel case. It is IP67 certified. This means that it is resistant to dust and water. After a few days, some fine dust accumulates on the Moto 360, so blowing it away doesn't help. Instead, hold them under the water for a few minutes, which is good.

Google's latest smartwatch operating system, Android Wear OS, runs on Moto 360. It is based on Google Now and works with your Android smartphone – it starts with OS 4.3 Jelly Bean. Apple iPhone and Windows Phone OS are currently not supported. In addition to the familiar map view, there are also some Motorola Mobility software features. For example, the user can color the watch faces, i.e. dials, directly from his smartphone. You can also enter your physical data, such as height, mass and more, so that fitness functions are better coordinated.

Motorola Moto 360 display

The Corning Gorilla Glass is chamfered on the side.

The display is 1.56 inches in diagonal. It is an IPS-LCD and resolves with the QVGA computer vector – 320 pixels horizontally and 290 pixels vertically. We liked the sharpness and the brightness of the display. The optimally set font size is also worth mentioning: even from a long distance, texts can be read easily.

As mentioned at the beginning, the display is cut off at the bottom so that 30 pixels are missing. To be honest, it didn't bother me that much – it bothered me. It would have been nicer anyway …

Charging works via induction.

The Motorola Moto 360 is one of my favorites. Due to its appearance and workmanship, it stands out from many smartwatches currently available. The operation of the watch is simple: a physical button on the side, touchscreen plus swing gesture. You don't have to study for that. I found it useful to charge the Moto 360 wirelessly. In my experience, I mostly reached 1.5 days – in the initial phase it was sometimes less because I did more.

The Moto 360 has an integrated heart rate monitoring, which works optically and evaluates the data via the Google Fit application. If I'm honest, I didn't really use the part in everyday life. I thought it worked well, but somehow it was self-evident. The RRP of the Moto 360 is € 249, here and there you can get it cheaper. We find the price for the offered product fair.
