The American giant plans to launch its Microsoft Surface Earbuds this spring. A marketing that comes largely after that of the Samsung Galaxy Buds and Apple Airpods.
There is ample evidence to suggest that the Microsoft Surface Earbuds are on the right track. But are they interesting and should you buy them when they come out? So I'm going to tell you everything about what we know about Microsoft's smart health connected headphones.
Microsoft product manager Panos Panay announced in a tweet last December that surface in-ear headphones will be launched worldwide in the spring of 2020. In addition, the headset user manual has surfaced via the US Federal Communications Commission, indicating an impending launch.
The Microsoft Surface Earbuds manual details the gestures to slide the headphones on the touch pads of the Surface headphones. It also includes an overview of the different earpiece tips. The image below is from the document filed with the FCC.
Other information gleaned from the documents suggests that the Surface Earbuds will have eight hours of music playback. In addition, the charging unit has 16 hours of battery life. The case also charges via USB-C.
Microsoft Surface Earbuds will also allow dictation for Office applications. Indeed, these in-ear headphones have two microphones in each headset to help eliminate noise. They will cost $ 249.99 when launched. An average price of what is practiced on the market for this type of smart health connected headphones.
Keep in mind that this FCC filing coincides with another publication that revealed that the Surface Earbuds 2 are coming. Microsoft recently announced the dates for Build 2020, so we could see them debuting at that time. We will know more about it in a few weeks during the presentation.
