The screen is quite surprising, here we are facing a IPS LCD display, Liquid Retina and non OLED, for a resolution of 1792 X 828 and 326 pixels per inch, where the competition from Android systematically integrates high-resolution panels (2436 X 1125) in high-end smartphones. The least we can say is that the difference is not obvious when you are on the menu, you have to really approach less than 5 cm to start seeing the pixels.
On the other hand there or the difference can be noticeable for a trained eye, is when watching movies and photos on an iPhone XS. The image is brighter, the contrasts better defined, the blacks are deeper and the whites brighter. Note, however, that the 3 models (XR, XS and XS max) all 3 integrate the function HDR.

A camera really high end?
Regarding the quality of rear camera, Apple integrates a 12-megapixel stabilized sensor with a wide angle lens of f / 1.8 which is exactly the same as that of the iPhone XS. The main difference is that it does not integrate a dual sensor, which does not allow the use of an X2 optical zoom but a digital zoom, which is less faithful in the reproduction of details. But overall the electronic processing of the image is exactly the same, the dynamic range is good, which results in great shots.
For the portrait mode, we have 5 different formats and 3 lighting effects (lighting natural, studio and outlines). You can adjust the depth of field for a blur effect in the background, the famous Bokeh effect more or less pronounced according to your wishes.
The front camera True Depth embeds a goal of 7 Megapixels with a wide angle lens of f / 2.2. The video can be shot in 60 frames per second with a 1080P resolution. The better performance of the market ?
So there, we must admit that we are pleasantly surprised, we find the same 6-core A12 Bionic chip than the XS with 3 Gigas of oars which will allow you to view multiple applications at the same time, or even play resource-intensive games like NBA 2K 18.
The level of framerate (the number of images per second) there is no slowing down even when the image is extremely animated, it even surpasses its elder by one image per second.
For the stereo sound on the other hand, it located only on the side of the front panel. So you will not have no stereo when you watch a movie for example in landscape mode.
