It's the return of the fitness tracker specialist! Fitbit, which already offers a wide and diversified range of products, is preparing to offer an upgrade to two of its products. The Flex and Charge bracelets will thus be entitled to a second iteration which promises crisp innovations.
Fitbit merges Charge and Charge HR
In mid-August, the first images of Fitbit's new products began to appear on the Internet. We can see that the Charge 2 will be wider than its predecessor, but thathe will be equipped with a heart rate monitoring.
To date, there are two models of this smart health connected bracelet: the Charge and the Charge HR. They look a lot alike, but the latter has a heart rate tracker where the former does not. Besides, they don't attach in the same way. If we trust the images revealed on the Internet, we can think thatthere will be only one model of the Charge, which will be a combination of the two previous models.
Charge 2 will havelarger screen than current models. This will surely allow him toview more information and notifications (number of steps, distance traveled, and all the other data you would expect to find on this kind of product) in the same way as the Fitbit Alta.
This isn't the only thing the Charge 2 seems to share with the Alta. Indeed, he will also benefit from interchangeable bracelets, which will allow the user to swap the elastomer strip for a different look. The attachment will remain the same, the bracelet will therefore always be well fixed on the wrist.
Flex stays on track
The Flex 2 will be a smaller and simpler product compared to Charge 2. Like its predecessor, it will be a complete elastomer strip equipped with LEDs that will represent your progress.
In terms of look, the Flex 2 seems to be closer to the Fitbit Alta, with which it now shares a less smooth finish than the first Flex. There will always be the same number of LEDs but they will be positioned vertically rather than horizontally.
Always as wide a tracking
Many rumors about the functionality of the two devices also circulate on the Internet. If we refer to the site TechnoBuffalo, which is the source of the information and photos available, Charge 2 will be equipped with a heart rate tracker (as seen above).
He will also take care of track all of your day's activities as well as your sleep, as the Charge already does. However, it will be suitable for practicing many sports and will send notifications to your smartphone, such as the Alta.
The number of steps, the distance traveled, number of floors climbed, calories burned, heart rate, number of minutes spent in activity, the duration of sleep… so many data that will most certainly be there. We don't know if the Charge 2 will be waterproof, but it will indeed be the case for the Flex 2, which can be used directly in swimming. It should be the only one in this case in the entire Fitbit range. However, it will measure less data than the Charge, only the number of steps, the distance traveled, the calories lost, the minutes of activity and the duration of sleep. Flex being without altimeter, there is little chance that his successor will be able to measure the stages mounted. That said, it's already a lot.
To date, the Charge costs € 149.95 and the Flex € 99.95. It would not be surprising, however, that Charge 2 sees a small price increase given the improvements and the combination of two products which were before distinct.
No release date has yet to be announced. However, with IFA 2023 which will take place in Septembere, it's a safe bet that Fitbit jumped at the chance and made announcements.
