Huawei has on its yesterday's press conference At the start of the Mobile World Congress, three new wearables were presented: TalkBand B2 (hands-on video), TalkBand N1 and the highlight: the Huawei Wear based on Android Wear.
It has a housing made of cold-forged stainless steel, which is not only supposed to be particularly stable but also scratch-resistant. In addition, the watch's AMOLED display with 400 × 400 pixels is comparatively high-resolution. According to Huawei, the watch has the highest pixel density – and thus the sharpest display – of all Android Wear smartwatches. There are also two other features that make the Huawei watch stand out from the competition: the top of the touchscreen is made of scratch-resistant sapphire glass, and the manufacturer has installed an optically working heart rate monitoring on the bottom.
Unfortunately, the watches exhibited at the fair are still pre-series models. We did not get any further technical details, such as the capacity of the battery or the built-in processor, on request.
Although there is currently little information available, we took the opportunity to look at the Huawei Watch in detail. The comparatively low weight was particularly surprising for us – especially considering the material used. The watch will be launched in silver, black and gold in the middle of the year. The manufacturer has not yet given a price. More information and a first look at the watch can be seen in the video:
