Samsung will soon present the Galaxy Watch 3, successor to the first generation Galaxy Watch. New photos of the smart health connected watch have just leaked, showing it for the first time running. The images give us a first glimpse of the new Tizen OS interface.

Two years have passed since the release of the first generation Galaxy Watch. Samsung has obviously decided to pretend its successor came out last year. The new smart health connected watch would not be called Galaxy Watch 2 as expected, but Galaxy Watch 3, a leap of a generation that would be justified not only by the desire to avoid confusion in minds with the Galaxy Watch Active 2.

After the first photos of the watch seen on the website of a South Korean certification body, the YouTube channel TechTalkTV has just posted a series of other photos which present it better. We now have a better overview of the design, the Galaxy Watch 3 being presented in full swing as you can see in the tweet at the end of the article. The lit screen lets you see the new interface. The icons have been slightly modified and display more contrasting colors. These changes prefigure the new version of Tizen OS (5.5).

No change in design level

If there’s one thing fans can look forward to, it’s the return of the physical rotating bezel which was absent from the Galaxy Watch Active and Watch Active 2. The design of the smart health connected watch is very similar to that of the Galaxy Watch of the first generation if we leave aside the two side buttons which have a more cylindrical shape.

Finally, in terms of characteristics, it is inside the watch that we will find the real changes. First, two versions of different sizes would be launched: one with a 41 mm (1.2 inch) dial and a larger version of 45 mm (1.4 inch). Unlike the current watch, the Galaxy Watch 3 would have a electrocardiogram (ECG), a blood pressure measurement function and better sleep monitoring.

The GPS will also be back, as will the waterproofing. We go from 1.5 to 2 GB for RAM and from 4 to 8 GB for internal storage. The watch should be formalized in early August during the presentation conference of the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra.
