The Fenix 4 will not see the light of day!
After the Garmin Fenix 3, a high-end and very complete multisport GPS watch, everyone was watching for the release of a new version, the Fenix 4. But it will definitely not see the light of day! The brand has indeed avoided calling its watch "Fenix 4" for practical reasons related to the Chinese market, the number 4 having, in Chinese, a pronunciation close to the word "dead".
So do not look for the long awaited Fenix 4 since it does not exist!
There will therefore be no Garmin Fenix 4! But the manufacturer has released a brand new model of GPS watch that is even more efficient and complete, which we briefly describe below.
Fenix 5: the last Garmin model released in 2017 instead of the Fenix 4

Successor of Fenix 3, it's Garmin Fenix 5, and not the Fenix 4, which the brand presented in 2017. This sports watch brings a certain number of improvements, in particular 3 sizes of cases available to adapt to all wrists, including fine wrists! In addition to this innovation, it offers greater autonomy, interchangeable wristbands without tools, a less greedy and thinner optical sensor, a sapphire glass and optional Wi-Fi and very interesting new features.
It is clear that the Fenix 5 is a watch that makes a very good impression. It is both high-end and very complete. A true jewel of technology. Difficult to find better to date (July 2017)! Only drawback, its relatively high price depending on the model chosen (with or without sapphire crystal and Wi-Fi).
In addition to the improvements made to the Fenix 3, the Fenix 5X model embeds the mapping and cycle paths of Europe (for watches purchased in Europe) as well as more than 40,000 golf courses in the world! The watch displays nearby points of interest (hotels, restaurants, pharmacies, etc.) and allows you to navigate from a map displayed on its screen. It can even offer a round trip route on road or bike path!
Fenix 3: a good compromise?
In the absence of an abandoned Fenix 4 or a slightly expensive Fenix 5, we can always acquire the excellent Fenix 3 which is nonetheless a very complete multisport GPS watch and at a price currently falling and lower than the Fenix 5. It is available in several models (with sapphire glass or ordinary glass, optical sensor on the wrist or not, and different types of glasses and bracelets) and is also available as an economic pack including a belt HRM-Run.
