Even if it will probably be necessary to wait until the end of 2024, or even 2022, to see them in stores, the Apple Glass deliver new secrets such as their price, the absence of a camera or their accounting with corrective lenses.
This is the new Arlesian from Apple offices, Apple Glass. For years, we have been talking about the release of augmented reality Apple but they stay in their case, for the simple reason that all attempts by the competition have failed. But according to the insider Jon Prosser, the project is not abandoned, and it even provides very interesting details. First, there is the price, and the pair would cost $ 499. This is rather good news because it must be remembered that the Google Glass cost double.
Other good news, it will be possible to equip them with glasses correctors. This is clearly an essential asset even if it will generate an additional cost for the glasses to be compatible with the augmented reality functions with the display of images, texts and data directly on the tiles. Moreover, the two glasses will benefit from this technology with notably the recognition of gestures, and therefore the possibility of displaying different information. For the recognition of gestures and movements, the frame will be equipped with a sensor LIDAR, present on theiPhone 12, expected for the next school year.
What you will learn
An iPhone required for operation
What we also learn is that the glasses will not be equipped with a photo / video sensor, like the Google Glass, and that a mandatory iPhone so that the augmented reality functions are accessible. The connection between the two devices will be made in Bluetooth, and Apple Glass should therefore work on the same principle as Apple Watch. Little more interesting: the charging of glasses would be done wirelessly.
For availability, you should not be in a hurry since Jon Prosser estimates that the end for 2025 will be concentrated on the iPhone 12, and that it will probably be necessary to wait until the end of 2024, or even the beginning in 2025 for the Apple Glass to be available. . No doubt the time to carry out more or more extensive tests so that this product avoids a flop.
Apple glasses confirm for 2025
We were talking about a helmet, but Apple should finally launch smart health connected glasses for 2025. Ultimately, the firm would even consider that they replace the iPhone every day.

Apple to prepare to launch its own augmented reality glasses for 2025, according to new information published by Bloomberg. This information confirms that of Ming-Chi Kuo, a renowned analyst, who had announced it for the second quarter for 2025.
These glasses, called " Apple ARGlasses "While waiting for an official name, Google Glass and will integrate a holographic display. They can be synchronized with an iPhone to display messages, e-mails, maps in the Maps app or video games over the real world.
Glasses could one day replace the iPhone
Apple is thinking about creating a App store specific to its new glasses, like those that already exist for iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch or Apple TV. The firm is currently recruiting graphic designers and game developers to make it a reference in a new category of products, and perhaps one day the successor of the iPhone. However, these glasses may face some competition, with similar products being developed by Facebook and Amazon.
The site has also posted new information about the next iPhone, which will be compatible 5G. It will also ship a processor more powerful, and a 3D camera on the back. The latter confirms Apple's interest in augmented reality, since it will notably allow better placement of virtual objects over the real world in applications of augmented reality.
Apple: a virtual reality headset linked to the iPhone for 2025?
Apple has filed a patent for a headset that would combine augmented reality and the iPhone's touch interface.

While Microsoft created the event at Mobile World Congress 2024 with sound Hololens 2, Apple filed a patent on Thursday for the combined use of a virtual reality headset and an iPhone. Unlike the Samsung Gear VR which places the smartphone inside the helmet, Apple's plan would be to use the iPhone as a command using the touch interface.
In the sketches, the user holds his smartphone in his hand; this would be the means chosen to interact with the virtual environment projected inside the helmet. The goal would not be to present images from the iPhone on the screen, as suggested by a patent filed in 2015 where the iPhone was housed in the helmet.
Where to classify this project?
This new patent discovered by Patently apple confirms the information of Cnet.com which suggests that such a product would be scheduled for 2025. As often, Apple would wait for competition to wipe out plasters before disembarking with a more general and intuitive model. Currently, virtual reality headsets can be counted on the fingers of both hands.
There are "empty" helmets – like the Samsung Gear VR or the Google Daydream which only costs a few tens of euros to accommodate specific smartphones – there are also total immersion headsets like the HTC Vive or theOculus Rift which can exceed 1,000 euros, or even simple smart health connected glasses.
Finally, there is the Magic Leap which, like Apple's project, combines large virtual reality glasses with a wireless controller. It is undoubtedly in this category that the Apple project is placed, but that would make it a very expensive product: several thousand euros. As with the competition, the question of content will be very important, and it will be a question of convincing the developers before the customers. But Apple is used to filling up on apps before launching a product. We can assume that this helmet will land with a host of possible uses.
