Unboxing: design and ergonomics of eufyCam 2C cameras and its base
Upon receipt, the packaging gives us a good first impression, which will be confirmed later. Once the package is opened, we discover the two small cameras smart health connected as well as HomeBase. Aesthetically speaking, the whole is simple but neat. It indeed gives an impression of solidity and quality especially at the level of the two cameras. Not surprisingly, the camera is equipped with, among other things, a light sensor, of a microphone, of a movement detector and a projector. So we have little to complain about on that side. In addition to the two cameras and the HomeBase, the package contains several other elements. There is a power adapter, an Ethernet cable and a micro-USB charging cable, a metal rod, a mounting bracket and more screws.
Start-up and installation of the HomeBase and the eufyCam 2C camera
Good news the instruction manual is in French and everything is explained clearly for the installation. In 10 minutes hardly we have set up the complete system with the HomeBase as well as the cameras. First thing to do during installation: connect the HomeBase to the WIFI router from your health home with a Ethernet cable. No need to enter your Wi-Fi password. Then the Eufy Security application takes over, just choose your device to receive the instructions to follow. Just press the button on the top of the camera to synchronize with the HomeBase. A super simple installation which represents a real strong point of the eufyCam 2C! With each camera, it is possible to give them a room name to better navigate among all the direct.
Small clarification: we voluntarily chose to install the cameras in interior. If you decide to install them as outdoor security cameras, it takes a little more time. And the location should not be chosen at random, indeed the wireless signal must be strong enough to allow pairing. The application guides you to install it in the best possible location.
Review of mobile app features
Let's go to the getting started with the application. The interface is rather ergonomic and well thought out. The real strength of the eufy camera is the fact that there is no need to subscribe to view the recordings. You have access to the clips when there is a detection directly without paying.
On the health home page, you will find the direct video stream with some convertible options. Among the parameters is the famous intelligent motion detection with AI. It is possible to define a specific activity area but also to set the sensitivity of the detector on a scale of 1 to 7. We have the choice between receiving only human notifications or all types of movement. We therefore preferred to opt for human detection to avoid any unnecessary notification. And it must be said that the motion detector proves effective and sharp ! Upon receipt of a notification, all you have to do is click on it to access the clip in question. All videos are accessible from the “Events” tab. As for the third and last tab, it lets you customize programs according to your presence or absence. Allowing you to activate the cameras only when necessary.

Overall image quality
The quality of the images (1080p in high definition) corresponds to what cameras belonging to the same price range as the eufyCam 2C offer. It’s nothing more or less than you would expect from a wireless camera like this. The rendering is sharp and precise with a slight presence of noise all the same. But no problem to see who is on the other side of the security camera!
In the same way, in low light and at night the result is more than correct. It is possible to choose between different options for night vision: in black and white or in color. The camera having a projector, it can easily scare off an intruder trying to break in.
Motion detection and facial recognition
As we discussed earlier, the motion detection is an undeniable asset of eufy smart health connected security cameras! Adjustable, that of the eufyCam 2C proves to be effective and is not fooled by false alarms. Although we have tried to trap it with non-human elements … In addition, we receive notifications almost in real time where the movement starts. Storage is done locally via HomeBase with a micro SD card, so no additional costs to view your recordings. It is possible to store up to 14.68 GB of video clips. But if you want to record your videos on the Cloud, this is also possible via a subscription at around 3 euros per month for a single camera. You will then have access to your 30 day history.
