The packaging of the product is fairly standard. Made of cardboard, it carries a lot of information on the Dyson Pure Hot + Cold Link. These indicate the general functions of the product and its application, the details of its warranty, and even the type of particles that the device removes.
The box opens without forcing by removing the adhesives that block the lid of the package. We then discover the material of the air purifier: in addition to the device itself, only a remote control and a manual are provided.
It may sound relatively small, but it is a good thing. The product is very easy to install thanks to the manual and the application and no other device is necessary. The plug of the Dyson Pure Hot + Cold Link is directly attached to the latter, reducing the number of different locations inside the box.
This makes the box very airy and avoid the feeling of being overwhelmed by the various small components that you can have with certain products. “Airy” is also the best adjective to qualify the air purifier manual. It is quite large (A4 format) and the paragraphs are well spaced, which makes reading enjoyable and facilitates understanding.
Design and ergonomics of the Dyson Pure Hot + Cold Link
Pure Hot + Cold Link offers the same design as other Dyson ambient air handling units. So it has a racy look, with an oval loop to circulate the air in the device more efficiently with less noise and turbulence while consuming 40% less energy than a device of the same conventional type. In addition, the complete absence of blades rotating at high speed makes it much less dangerous, especially if you have young children.
Below this loop, the base of the air purifier contains a cavity which aims to reduce the sound produced by the engine of the device, as well as a filtering unit used to purify the ambient air. The Pure Hot + Cold Link is not as large as other devices in the Dyson range (it measures approximately 60 cm high), which makes it relatively discreet. In addition, its sober design allows it to adapt without problems to most interiors.
In terms of ergonomics, Dyson does not disappoint. The device is easy to transport and does not weigh very heavy. Be careful though, the oval loop overhanging it is not a handle ! As tempting as it may be, you shouldn't move the device by holding it there. You'd better belt it with your arms, its cylindrical design making it very easy.
Application of Dyson Pure Hot + Cold Link
Above all, the air purifier application allows you to connect the device to your smartphone and thus use its advanced features. Indeed, you can, if you wish, only connect the device and turn it on with its remote control. You can then heat or ventilate your interior, and purify the air in a room. However, the device has a lot more to offer, and that goes through the Dyson Link app.
First of all, you will need to download the application and create a Dyson account. The manual clearly states that this is the first step. You can then let yourself be guided by the application without having to use the manual. It gives you all the instructions to start up the Pure Hot + Cold Link, manage its functionality, and even clean its different parts.
Once you have smart health connected the product to your smartphone, you will have access to different functions: including scheduling, which allows you to set up a weekly program to turn the purifier on and off at the time and according to the settings of your choice, and air quality targeting that lets you define the power of the purifier of air. You will then be able to choose between a classic mode which will simply maintain good quality air, and other more powerful modes if you are particularly sensitive to particles and pollutants.
Using the Dyson Pure Hot + Cold Link
Nowadays, we care a lot about outdoor pollution. We are concerned about exhaust fumes and other factory fumes, but they are far from the only sources of pollution. Indeed, even indoors, many elements can participate in the creation of particles which can be dangerous for your health. The Dyson Pure Hot + Cold Link aims to fight against this little-known pollution which can be up to five times that of the exterior.
Once lit, there is not much left for you to do. The device displays the target temperature that you can change with the remote control. You can also choose the power of airflow and oscillation like a conventional fan. The remote control still offers two original features: launching pre-recorded programs with a single click, and switching between target mode and ambient mode.
The programs are very easy to set up and offer you to adjust the details of all the features offered by the purifier which we have already mentioned. The device also offers a night mode which reduces the intensity of the electrical display and which further reduces the noise made by its motor. Ideal during summer nights.
Dyson Pure Hot + Cold Link facing the competition
On the air purifier market, Dyson is very well positioned thanks to its very complete high-end products which combine air conditioning, heating and air purification.. Many other air purifiers like the Huhoo, the Wynd or the Aware are much smaller and only offer this functionality, and therefore do not have the diversity of Pure Hot + Cold Link.
For a few indoor devices like this, Dyson’s product, while very comprehensive, is still quite expensive. The Xiami air purifier, for example, costs only around € 120; however, it does not offer air conditioning or heating. The Dyson Pure Hot + Cold Link therefore remains a fairly unique product, which is reflected in its price.
