A year after the takeover of Beddit, a Finnish start-up specialized in sleep analysis, Apple is preparing to launch a new model of its sleep tracker. The version 3.5 of the Sleep Monitor does not seem to bring its share of new features; it is especially the design which should have undergone some modifications.
Like previous generations, the Beddit Sleep Monitor 3.5 is a headband that the user installs between the mattress and the fitted sheet. With all kinds of sensors, this smart health connected product measures the heart rate, breathing, snoring, sleep cycles, as well as their duration, but also the temperature or the humidity level in the room. All this collected data helps to evaluate the quality of sleep, the information is gathered in an app that allows to establish a diagnosis of the user's sleep and give personalized advice to improve it. The app allows several functions, including the one that offers to set sleep rhythms. The strip is long enough to occupy the width of the bed and thus retrieve the information relating to the sleep of a couple.
Currently available on the Apple website, the Sleep Monitor 3.5 is marketed at a price of 149 €. To work, this device requires iOS version 11 at least.
