Initially working on a collection of stone furniture, the designer decided to give particular importance to stained oak: “I wanted to keep an object in stone by keeping a more unexpected approach and breaking the hard lines of the rest of the collection. The wooden version came a little later.”

Roundness as inspiration

The Chubby-Coffee table in stained oak owes its shape to a painting by the painter Fernando Botero. The idea of “inflating the features” thus came to him. Warmthis is how to characterize the wooden table Chubby. Full of curves, the piece of furniture stands out from its counterparts by its shape singular. “The name Chubby is a word that seems a bit childish to me and is directly linked to the chubby side of the collection. I think it gives it a light tone.” says Arthur Vallin.

As a base? A rectangle with rounded edges folded in two on the floor: “There is a lot of work with the workshops to try to keep this folded aspect regardless of the material used. Produced by hand with french wood, the organic material used also allows the designer to discover all his secrets and find inspiration for possible projects. The designer adds: “The table will be available in several finishes but wood is really a great material for its variations but also its final treatment”. The Chubby series declines in several designer pieces such as a stone stool or a travertine table.
