Beats by Dr Dre headsets continue to be closer to Apple products and their customers. The Beats Studio 3 Wireless headset is the most visible result of collaboration with society. If it is compatible with Android products, its use and construction are directed towards the apple brand.

Unboxing Beats Studio 3 Wireless
The helmet continues the momentum of its predecessors by being delivered in a rigid box which gives an overview of the craft. Once opened, we find the usual content Beats products. The helmet and its pocket of course but also the manuals, a carabiner (to hang your pocket) and Jack and power cables.
A packaging simple and elegant familiar to the regulars of the brand. All content is easily accessible without the risk of having to force or damage the box. The components are all well wedged together and do not risk deteriorating even if the transport is a little rough.
Helmet design and ergonomics
On the design side, no surprise for the Studio 3 wireless. Beats keeps them simple and clean lines that characterize them. The brand evolved however in its protective pouch. Where the previous products were content with a soft case, this helmet is entitled to rigid version. If the rest of its appearance does not vary, this detail adds a certain class in addition to better protect its content.
In its white version, the helmet highlights theelegance of the Beats brand and does not get stained, surprisingly, not easily. The light golden touches don't spoil anything and have the good idea of not being too present. The supplied Jack cable is the same color and keeps everything in harmony.
Theergonomics from Studio 3 jumped compared to its predecessors. Some tended to squeeze the skull to the point of creating discomfort that was difficult to ignore. This time, the pads surround the ears and the weight is better distributed. User comfort does not decrease in quality, even after several hours. On the other hand, the helmet has the bad habit to pull out the hair when you take it off too suddenly. The fault with its rubber hoop that painfully reminds you of gently remove Studio 3.
We can note the impractical power button, because too small. While it is used to manage the noise canceling system, it is unfortunate that it is not larger and easily usable. On the other ear, we control the classic controls headphones: volume, calls, play and pause. Buttons little instinctive for those who are using a Beats for the first time.
Using Beats Studio 3 Wireless Headphones
Beats Studio 3 still has a Jack cable, despite collaboration with Apple. If everything is done for push the consumer to use Bluetooth (we'll come back to this), so it's possible to plug in your headphones. On a computer, the sound is good, no more no less. On a smartphone, the results are almost the same.
While listening, the Beats Studio 3 is pleasant, but it is not without its shortcomings. The bass and treble they tend to take up too much space and invade the rest. No problem while listening to a "spoken" program, but the problem is felt with a little loud music.
In terms of insulation, the helmet makes a very good job in noisy places. Whether it's listening to a podcast or a song, you can barely hear what's going on around us. In the metro in particular, the system works wonders, even if all the sounds are not perfectly attenuated. In a quieter place, however, it’s precisely the most noisy insulation. The breath is clearly noticeable and quite annoying if you are not in a noisy environment. Fortunately, it is possible to deactivate this function by pressing the power button twice. An option absent from its predecessor and added to this version.
If the Beats Studio 3 has a Jack cable, it is clearly positioned as a Wireless Headset. Connection to a smartphone via Bluetooth is also done no problem. His main argument is his gigantic autonomy : around the 40 hours. Considerable time for a recharge of barely a few hours which could almost seem excessive. This is not the case, especially when you know thatonce discharged, he is impossible to make it work. Contrary to what the Beats Solo 3 offered, passive use of the helmet is not planned. Another indication of the place that Apple takes in the brand's projects.
Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones face competitors
In its category, the Beats Studio 3 has a number of competitors. Among them, the most important is undoubtedly the Plantronics Backbeat Pro. Its biggest asset is its price, around 150 euros, much lower than that of the Beats helmet. It also offers a better sound and at least equivalent insulation. However, the Backbeat Pro is both heavier, more massive and less aesthetic than Studio 3. A helmet to favor for a health home use rather than traveling.
Also, don't forget the Jabra Moves Wireless. This one is at an even more unbeatable price since it passes under the bar of 100 euros. In exchange, you have to accept theabsence of protective cover and one lower quality sound. Its lightness makes it a very good travel companion, even if its battery does not match that of the Beats headphones.
Conclusion for the Beats Studio 3 Wireless
Studio 3 Wireless has a large number of qualities, often counterbalanced by its shortcomings. The headset benefits from an impressive 40 hours of autonomy and its sound isolation system is effective. It is also very comfortable and the rest during prolonged use. Note, however, the inability of the headset to function as soon as it has no battery, even wired By attenuating the noise, it creates an annoying breath when the place where we are is not too agitated. If the sound it offers is appreciable, it is sometimes marred by overly present bass and treble. The Beats Studio 3 remains a good helmet to accompany its journeys, with a well distributed weight and a design pleasing to the eye.

6.5
Design and Ergonomics : The strong point of Beats Studio 3. Its design is both sober and elegant. It is very comfortable and allows prolonged use without any discomfort.
Features : The functionality of the headphones is as positive as negative. Its autonomy of 40 hours is amazing and its noise reduction system works well. It is a pity that it cannot be used as a passive and that its insulation system is so troublesome.
Getting started : Studio 3 does not revolutionize controls on Beats headsets. They will be familiar to a regular, but still not very instinctive to a newcomer.
Quality / Price ratio : At 349 euros, the Beats Studio 3 has a price too high in view of these defects. A fairer price would be below 300 euros.
