This new generation of smart health connected bracelet is doing well thanks to a more spacious OLED screen, 14 days of battery life, the presence of Amazon Alexa, NFC and a magnetic charger. As announced, Xiaomi lifted the veil on the Mi Band 5 at a Chinese conference. Very similar to the Mi Band 4 launched in 2019, the bracelet nevertheless includes several novelties expected by aficionados of the brand. We take stock of its strengths.

⌚️What new features for the Mi Band 5?
The Mi Band 5 differs first from its predecessor thanks to its 1.2 inch OLED screen, a display area 20% larger than the Mi Band 4, which had to settle for a 0.95 inch panel. This year, Xiaomi is offering more than 100 new animated watch faces with popular animated series characters, like SpongeBob.
The other major innovation of this fifth iteration is the magnetic charger. It is no longer necessary to separate the tracker from the bracelet to put it to charge. It is now enough to connect the charger to the electrodes attached to the back of the tracker. This new construction avoids the risks of false contacts, which are too regular with previous generations.
Like the previous models, the Mi Band 5 promises 14 days autonomy. This time, Xiaomi has entrusted the autonomy of the bracelet smart health connected to a 185 mAh battery. Likewise, the bracelet is waterproof to 50 meters deep for 30 minutes of immersion, like the Mi Band 4.
As expected, the Mi Band 5 also allows women to keep an eye on their menstrual cycles. Unsurprisingly, Xiaomi has also made more general improvements to monitoring sleep and physical activity. Now, the bracelet offers 11 modes of monitoring (for different sports) of physical condition and distinguishes REM sleep alongside deep and light sleep. Xiaomi also adds SpO2 pulse oximetry capability.
During the conference, Xiaomi did not discuss the integration of Amazon Alexa. However, the voice assistant is present on the international version of the smart health connected bracelet. The conference being reserved for the Chinese market, it is not surprising that the firm has overlooked the subject. Note also the presence of NFC for contactless payments with your smartphone.

Xiami Mi Band 5 is already available for pre-order on the Gearbest site for 39 euros. The first deliveries will take place at the beginning of August. This is the international version of the smart health bracelet, with Alexa and NFC.
