Huawei launched the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona today with the first press conference – and presented some interesting products. One of these is the TalkBand B2, the successor to the hybrid wearable launched last year.
Compared to its predecessor, the TalkBand B2 comes with an aluminum housing and optionally with a leather or plastic strap, making it much more elegant. Also new is the 0.73-inch PMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 128 × 88 pixels. At 11.5 millimeters, the device is around 20 percent flatter and, at 62 millimeters long, also shorter than its predecessor.
The primary unit can be removed from the band and used as a Bluetooth headset. For incoming calls, the user sees who is calling them – and can then decide whether to answer or not. The smartphone can of course stay in your pocket. Anyone who has misplaced their smartphone can also ring it using the TalkBand B2.
Technically, the wearable also offers a six-axis gyroscope and an acceleration sensor for counting steps and sleep analysis. There is an additional app for the smartphone in which you can view the data recorded by TalkBand. The device is said to be compatible with iOS and Android.
The housing of the TalkBand B2 will be available in the colors silver, gold and black. The standard version with plastic strap costs 169 euros, for the golden premium version with leather strap Huawei wants 199 euros.
