A startup from San Francisco offers adapters from Apple bracelets to standard bracelets – and watch buyers in Spe can save a lot of money.
"From $ 349": The price that Apple called for its watch last year actually sounded quite reasonable. The fact that you now have to transfer at least 800 euros to Cupertino so that the Apple watch on your wrist does not look like toys from the chewing gum machine is another matter (here you can find an overview with prices for all watch models).
However, there is a "trick" how you can save a lot of money when buying the watch – and still have a chic design. The hardware inside is the same for all models. Surcharges are paid for the housing material. The aluminum watch sport starts at 400 euros, the stainless steel watch costs at least 650 euros, and the gold watch edition starts at a slim 11,000 euros.
If you do not buy watches equivalent to small cars, there are additional charges for the size of the individual models (50 euros for 42 instead of 38 millimeters) and for the bracelet (up to 550 euros for the link bracelet). And this is exactly where you can save a lot: The US startup Monowear Design is currently offering wristbands on Kickstarter that should fit exactly into the Apple's highly proprietary clasp on the watch.
Take this, Apple: this metal link bracelet costs just $ 80. The manufacturer also wants to add more designs.
For example, there is already a leather bracelet for $ 65, and a metal bracelet for $ 80. You can get two for $ 115 or $ 140. As you can see on the pictures in this article, the various bracelets are really chic. And hopefully not just in the photos.
Deliveries of the straps are scheduled to begin two weeks after the Apple Watch goes live on April 24. Shipping to Germany costs $ 25. As long as Apple has not considered any rough mess that the watch only works with original bracelets, the watch price can suddenly be reduced to acceptable dimensions.
By the way, there are also wristbands for the watch at Casetify: For 50 euros, you can even have any motif printed on the bracelet in the company's online shop. And if you really don't have your own photos on Facebook, Instagram or your hard drive, you can also use a selection of emoticons – and then decorate the Apple Watch with a grinning pile of feces. Yeah.
