Molekule Air Pro RX air purifier kills viruses and bacteria

Among the smart health connected objects that can protect from coronavirus, we can now count an air purifier, the brand new Molekule Air Pro RX.

Indeed, if most of these devices cannot eliminate a virus, the latest Molekule model can. It has even received approval from the FDA, the United States Food and Drug Administration.

How Molekule Air Pro RX Filters Viruses

As the Air Mini, the Pro RX uses filters with PECO technology from the manufacturer. Designed to equip medical spaces such as hospitals, the device is capable of capturing bacteria and viruses present in the air. However, Molekule is working on a second version intended for this one in busy public spaces such as shops and offices. A pre-filter removes larger particles when the PECO filter takes care of microbes.

According to studies by independent laboratories, Molekule says its Air Pro RX can eliminate up to 99.999% of coronavirus and similar viruses. Among these, the brand cites for example the Phi X 174, a virus which shares a lot in common with SARS-CoV-2, more commonly called coronavirus. In all, the air purifier can reduce the concentration of this virus in the air by 98.7% in as little as 2 hours. For its part, a second virus, assimilated to that of the flu, saw its concentration decrease by 99.999% in 24 hours. No wonder the FDA gave its approval for medical use.
