Since the arrival of Chinese smartphones in France, the market has become more competitive. Engine of this acceleration, Xiaomi and, to a lesser extent, Oppo, chain smartphones with solid data sheets and attractive rates. At the end for 2025, the two manufacturers have worked hard with terminals simply excellent. In October, Oppo launched Reno2, its most successful terminal. In early November, it's Xiaomi's turn to draw with the Mi Note 10, a model equipped with a 108-megapixel photo sensor, just that.

ERGONOMICS AND DESIGN: EQUALITY

For this first round, the two terminals separate on a tie. Both Reno2 and Mi Note 10 have an excellent finish. It's also big smartphones, with 6.5 inch slabs that are difficult to handle with one hand. The Mi Note 10, the most classic of the two, offers a notch drop. For its part, the Oppo reiterates its concept of retractable flap housing the front camera.

If both terminals are able to accommodate two nano-SIM, only the Reno2 offers the ability to slide a microSD card. A luxury since the Reno2 already has 256 GB of internal memory. It will however be content with 128 GB of internal memory on the Mi Note 10. Finally, the two terminals have no seal certification, a gap still very common in these price ranges.

SCREEN: EQUALITY

Once again, it is difficult to declare a winner on this round. It must be said Oled tiles of our competitors of the day are simply excellent. The Mi Note 10, with its diagonal of 6.46 inches, its color temperature positioned at 6,240 K and its exemplary delta E (1,4) is perfect. For its part, the Reno 2 competes in excellence with values very close (6.5 inches, 6,799 K, average E delta at 2.4). Finally, the only differences will be on details. The slab of Reno2 offers a better maximum brightness (737 cd / m² against 588 cd / m²), the Mi Note 10 benefits from a better minimum brightness (1.8 cd / m² against 2.3 cd / m²). Not what to distinguish so.

PERFORMANCES: EQUALITY

For this round, the Reno2 and Mi Note 10 are still draw for one reason: both smartphones have the same equipment, or almost. So we find a Snapdragon 730G chip on both terminals. But where the Mi Note 10 is "happy" 6 GB of RAM, the Reno2 offers 8. And this contribution allows the smartphone of Oppo to get slightly better results, without outperforming his competitor so far. So we find an overall performance index of 87.08 on the Reno2 and 80.85 on the Mi Note 10. Again, the difference is so small that it is difficult to designate a winner. Both smartphones manage to achieve the essential multitasking requested by the user and allow to play the same games.

PHOTO: Mi NOTE 10

We had to wait for the photo to see one of our two contenders of the day win a round. And it's the Mi Note 10 that comes off. With its 108-megapixel sensor, 2x and 5x telephoto lenses, an ultra-wide-angle lens and macro module, the camera manages to get five stars in a photo, where the Reno2 stagnates at four. Yet it offers great versatility with a wide-angle module, an ultrafand-angle and a telephoto lens. But the Mi Note 10 puts the bar a little higher.

Main module

For starters, when using the main module in standard mode (27 MP for the Mi Note 10 and 12 MP for the Reno2), the Xiaomi smartphone takes a slight lead. His shots are slightly more realistic, with less accentuation of contrasts. There is also a dive a little more pronounced.

At night, the Mi Note 10 smooth, as we are used with Xiaomi, but offers a readable scene. This time the Reno2 offers a more realistic shot, despite a visible electronic noise.

Once in 108 MP, the Mi Note 10 distance a little more Reno2 and its 48 Mpx, with more dive, a better exposure and a much more convincing result. Especially since the Xiaomi terminal allows, thanks to the 108 Mpx, to seriously reframe the image.

Ultra-wide-angle module

Regarding the ultragrand-angle, it is first of all a question of definition that separates the two smartphones. With 20 MP, the Mi Note 10 offers more dive. Reno2 does not do much worse on the rest, be it exposure or image processing.

At night, both models have trouble providing proper shots. The Mi Note 10 is drowned out by the electronic noise while the Reno2 smooths the image excessively.

2x telephoto module

Once again, the two terminals react in opposite ways here. The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 accentuates contrasts as ever while the Oppo Reno2 smooths a lot. We still prefer the snapshot of the smartphone hit with a Mi, for a picture a little more realistic.

5x telephoto module

In 5x, the Mi Note 10 takes advantage of its dedicated module while the Reno2 ventures into the hybrid zoom. On this new round, it is again the Mi Note 10 which prevails, with always more details, and again a little less smoothing.

AUTONOMY: Mi NOTE 10

After the photo, the Mi Note 10 wins a second decisive round, that of autonomy. With its accumulator of 5 260 mAh, it managed to hold for 22 h 49 min under our autonomy Review protocol. What to put 5 hours in Reno2, which only lasted 17 h 41 min. It's still important to note that Oppo's smartphone is performing a five-star performance, but is being defeated by one of the best in the field.

On the charge side, the Reno2 is a little faster (1 h 24 min) to go up to 100% (against slightly more than 2 h for the Mi Note 10).

VERDICT: Mi NOTE 10

The Reno2 is fighting like hell, but the Mi Note 10 is far too competitive for him to leave the top step. Thus, the terminal of Xiaomi turns out unplayable on very important rounds like the photo and the autonomy. Especially since he does not loose anything in the rest. We advise you to turn to the Mi Note 10, a smartphone that should quickly become a standard meter in its range. Once is not custom, Xiaomi redefines the quality / price ratio.
